How to Join Troop 493

Welcome to Scouting! Follow the steps below to get started.

Step 1

Fill Out the Contact Form

Start by sharing your interest so we can follow up with next steps and answer questions.

Step 2

Attend a Weekly Scout Meeting

Get introduced to parent leaders and current scouts, as well as receive guidance on joining. We meet at St. Luke's Church in Sunnyvale, CA at 6:30pm on Mondays.

Step 3

Scout Email Setup

Scouts should have their own email. Scouts are responsible for email communication and must cc parents on every email.

Step 4

Complete the Youth Application

Parent Involvement

Parent participation is highly encouraged. At least one parent should complete the adult application using the same link above.

Step 6

Health Forms (Parts A, B, C)

Required for all outings before participating. Part C requires a doctor’s visit and signature.

Youth Protection Training (YPT)

All adults must complete Youth Protection Training.

Uniform and Scoutbook

Purchase a uniform and Scoutbook at the Scout Shop in San Jose. Staff will guide you.
